Program out for Film Fest
Check out the 2023 MUD AND SALTWATER SHORT FILM FEST PROGRAM for the Premiere screening on Friday night June 2nd 2023 at the Mangrove Hotel in Broome.

Director Kandy Curran says the short film entries are extraordinary in 2023, with filmmakers from across the Kimberley region telling unique stories and showcasing the region’s iconic landscapes through animation, music, drama-narrative, documentary and comedy.
The short films hlave been judged and the category winners will be announced at the Premiere by emcee Bart Pigram. Speaking of Broome’s talented Pigram family, this year, Ngaire Pigram, whose pronouns are she/they, is a proud queer Wajarri and Yawuru, multi-disciplinary storyteller from Broome, and a new addition to the judging panel, which includes Neil Turner, Manager of Pilbara and Kimberley Aboriginal Media, Paul Bell owner of Feral Films and Mark Jones , who is another profesional filmmaker. The Film Fest will celebrate World Environment Day, Bargana and is a drawcard event in the Broome Fringe Festival.
‘Sahaimi’ is a 12 year old boy who lives in Broome. Over the past year Sahaimi has been filming various aspects of his life to showcase the joys and frustrations of living with a disability.
