The annual Mud and Saltwater Short Film Fest premiered in the Shinju Matsuri Festival at Sun Pictures in Broome on September 13-14, 2019.
Filmmakers of any level are encouraged to submit a short film up to five minutes in length. To submit short films use www.filmfreeway.com (link button below).
Submit a Film that is related in subject matter to the natural, cultural or heritage values in the Category of ‘ROEBUCK BAY’ (has six sub-categories), ‘BROOME’ or ‘KIMBERLEY CALLING’ (subject matter relating to wider Kimberley region). Films submitted that don’t have Roebuck Bay, Broome or Kimberley (Western Australia) as their subject matter WILL NOT be considered.
The opening date for submissions for the 2020 Mud and Saltwater Short Film Fest will be released in early 2020.
If your short film is selected for inclusion in the Film Fest, it may also be screened at a later stage in Broome and other locations in the Kimberley region.

4 Comedy Can your short film make someone laugh?
5 Animation Using any animation technique from claymation to computer generated imagery
6 Music Video Integrating a song and imagery
BROOME (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)
7 Broome Short film about Broome, but ensure it is about the natural, cultural or heritage values (any genre).
* 5 minutes or less and in Broome
KIMBERLEY (WESTERN AUSTRALIA)
8 Kimberley Calling Short film about the wider Kimberley, but ensure it is about the natural, cultural or heritage values (any genre).
